The search always commits us to activity
While googling The Banff Centre to find something special to work during my residence, I discovered that, nearby, they had found a lot of dinosaurs. The Ankylosaurus was one of the most unique findings that happened there. Also, in Argentina, there were many important discoveries. So, for me, this was a way to connect both latitudes.
The Ankylosaurus was discovered in 1908 by Barnum Brown and his hypothesis was that the fossils belonged to 4 different species. Later, another researcher said that only belonged to one and today they returned to the initial hypothesis. So, in the context of this problematic situation, I decided to build my own version.
I collected some off-cuts from a carpentry workshop and slotted them together into the shape of a dinosaur. Finally, I lightly singed the sculp-ture, carried it downtown and left it at the entrance of the Banff Natural Science Museum.
This produced some confusion to the director of the Museum who finally sent an email to The Banff Centre asking if they knew anything about it. Thus, the Ankylosaurus returned to the place from which it came.

Mientras googleaba The Banff Centre para encontrar algo especial en lo que trabajar durante mi residencia, descubrí que, en las proximidades, habían encontrado una gran cantidad de dinosaurios. El Ankylosaurus era uno de los hallazgos más singulares que ocurrieron allí. Asimismo, en Argentina, hubo muchos descubrimientos importantes. Así que, para mí, esto era una manera de conectar ambas latitudes.
El Ankylosaurus fue descubierto en 1908 por Barnum Brown y su hipótesis era que los fósiles encontrados pertenecían a 4 especies diferentes. Mas tarde, otro investigador dijo que solo pertenecían a una y hoy en día se volvió a la hipótesis inicial. Así que, en el contexto de esta problemática situación, decidí construir mi propia versión.
Fui a buscar restos de madera de la carpintería y los encastre como si fueran un esqueleto de dinosaurio. Por ultimo, lo queme y lo lleve al centro de la ciudad, dejándolo en la entrada del Museo de Ciencias Naturales de Banff.
Esto produjo cierta confusión a la directora del museo quien finalmente envio un correo electronico al Banff Centre preguntando si sabían algo al respecto. De esta manera el ankylosaurus volvió al lugar de donde salio.
